EDI Conversion

Eliminate the Mistakes and Tedium that Come with Manually Processing Delivery Information

The C-store industry has long had to deal with the tedium, imprecision and inefficiency of manually processing delivery information. Too often printed computer output has to be re-keyed into another computer—a waste of time and expense. SSCS’s c-store EDI conversion module minimizes duplicate effort through promoting paperless processing of information between computers and reducing physical re-keying of electronic deliveries and data.

Direct Data

EDI Conversion for Convenience StoresThe Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) program from SSCS allows for the direct delivery of item and invoice information from a wholesale vendor to a dealer. The information is converted electronically into CDBWin. Delivery information can be delivered directly into your system via a broadband connection or using e-mail. CDBWin’s EDI conversion module converts the vendor’s file into a delivery invoice and gives you the option of choosing between your vendor’s suggested retail price, or setting up your own.

Invoice Delivery

Once your price book is set up, EDI places you in direct contact with your vendor for all future deliveries. As your vendor fills your order, a file containing item names, quantities, costs and suggested list prices is created and made available to your system via high-speed data trasnfer.

Any variance between deliveries, such as a change to your cost, will be identified by the program. Items which are new to your inventory are also identified.

Accounts Payable

Once items are received, the CDBWin c-store back office system sends the delivery to the Purchases/Payables program where it creates a purchase transaction for that particular vendor.

A Host of Benefits

Because of the time and cost savings the program provides, and its ancillary relationship benefits, EDI has become a strategic business tool for the C-store industry. Additional benefits include:

  • Reduced administrative costs
  • Fewer clerical errors
  • Shortened transaction cycle times
  • Improved inventory management
  • More effective communications
  • Better trading partner relationships
  • More responsive customer service
  • More accurate forecasting
  • Re-engineering and streamlining of internal administrative processes
  • Overall increased productivity
