Physical Inventory Makes C-Store Operations More Profitable

THE IMPORTANCE OF SCANNING

The Hand Held Terminal or HHT, like the one shown here, is an integral part of the Computerized Daily Book system, allowing more efficient inventory control by item.

OVER THE YEARS there have been many solutions offered for effective inventory control. SSCS believes good management decisions are only achieved when you track purchases, sales and inventory by item.

For years, SSCS has been providing solutions that meet this standard. Whether you operate a C-Store, a small kiosk, or an auto repair facility, you can achieve the control you desire with the Computerized Daily Book. Our program is based on the belief that you must track what you (1) buy/receive, (2) sell, and (3) what's on the shelf by item.

We have tools that allow you to track every item that is received, sold or remains on your premises. Since no one method of recording deliveries fits every need, you can select from one or all of our programs that address this function: EDI, Recurring Paidouts, Hand Held Terminal (HHT), or manual entry.

We also provide software that will generate purchase orders (Computer Assisted Ordering-CAO) for some of the major wholesalers, and electronically send them to the vendor. This will reduce overstocking and, of course, keep your shelf stocked with items that generate profits.

Using the hand-held terminal, the operator can take a physical inventory of a single department or a range of departments at any time. The software will produce an exceptions report that compares the book inventory counts to the physical inventory counts by item at cost and retail. When the audit is completed the system will adjust the book inventory to match the physical count and write off the difference as a plus or minus to the Cost of Goods Sold for each item and leave an audit trail at the click of a mouse.
