E-Poll permits the operator to program new items (PLU’s, U.P.C.’s, or EAN’s) from a back office PC or edit existing item data such as price, department, or description.

Communications
The data can be passed between the register and the back office on-site PC via a serial cable not to exceed 100 feet or via modem to a remote off-site PC. Information resides in a buffer in the ER-650 and requires a manager action to update the POS.

Data Interchange Format
The E-Poll program stores data in an ASCII file. This means you can use the data to create custom reports.

Posting to Computerized Daily Book (CDB) program:
Once the data has been retrieved it can be posted at the touch of a key to the Computerized Daily Book. This action updates the daily sales register and item level inventory files.

Product Description
E-Poll is a POS Interface for the Samsung Sam4s ER-650. This electronic cash register is a low cost register that will permit scanning in a nonfuel environment.

E-Poll communicates with the ER-650 via a modem or a serial cable not to exceed 100 feet through one of two serial ports on the device. The other port is used to connect a POS scanner. The ER-650 can accommodate up to 99 departments and up to 10,000 items (U.P.C./EAN/PLU). E-Poll will collect sales data and store it in the ER-650 after the Z report process is run on the device.

Once the data is retrieved by E-Poll, it will remain in E-Poll files for up to 99 days without being lost. This means you can let E-Poll collect your sales data on the weekends or while on vacation without loosing any of your sales data. When you click Post to CDB, the E-Poll program places the sales data you selected into the proper sales departments in the CDB and updates the item level inventory file.

Price changes are easy with E-Poll. Using the Item Adjust feature of the CDB you can change one item or several items by class, price, vendor, pack size, or any of nine different criteria. When you have made the changes, simply send them to E-Poll and it will permit you to send the changes to the ER-650 immediately or on the next scheduled task. The changes require action on the part of the ER-650 operator to update the device.
