Salinas, CA (December 23, 2008) -- Service Station Computer Systems, Inc. (SSCS) is pleased to announce The Mitchell 1 OnDemand5.com™ Parts & Labor Program Interface. The Interface places the latest, most accurate vehicle information at the fingertips of Computerized Daily Book (CDB) customers for quick and accurate preparation of estimates and work orders.

The Mitchell 1 Interface allows users to transfer Mitchell information—which includes parts and labor descriptions, parts prices and labor hours—into the lines of the CDB estimate with a few mouse clicks. “It’s a simple, logical, step-by-step process that guides the user through the process of building the estimate,” notes Dave Rady, senior account manager of business development at Mitchell 1.

As an electronic catalog, the Mitchell 1 OnDemand5.com Parts & Labor Program is a recognized standard for automotive repair information. “Many of our customers use the Mitchell program, love it, and have been requesting a way for it to work with our back office system,” says SSCS Vice President of Sales and Marketing Al Stoeberl. “We happy to be able to fulfill their request, and are excited at the prospects of convenience and efficiency it will bring to their operations.”

SSCS’s Mitchell 1 OnDemand5.com Parts & Labor Estimating Program Interface avails the user the following benefits:

  • Industry-standard parts and labor information for domestic and foreign vehicles accessed from the same computer on which the user runs CDBWin.
  • Consistently updated data that keeps users abreast of the latest changes to parts applications and labor procedures.
  • Automatic capture of information that reduces keystrokes, human error, and the time it takes to write an estimate/work order.
  • Fully illustrated entries that assist in the accurate identification of required parts.
  • Technical bulletins with the information necessary for customers to provide quality service to the vehicles in their shops.

“Our multi-item promotions software is designed to reduce inventory headaches pertaining to the management of mix & match and combo items,” says Al Stoeberl, SSCS vice president of sales and marketing. “Today an operator must account for these items by reviewing the electronic journal and creating a spreadsheet to analyze sales. This is no longer the case.”
