Central Price Book Version History

Version 2.18 - 3/29/2010

  • The user-defined site "numbers" that were introduced in CDBWin 7.4.3 have been incorporated into this release of Central Price Book. This is apparent in three areas of the program:
    • In the Zone List (on the Setup menu, click Zones).
    • On all Promotions Results reports (on the Reports menu, click Promotions > All Selections).
    • On the View Outside Updates feature and report (on the Create Adjustments window, click View Outside Updates > View Items Changed in Sites)
  • An Output button has been added to the Reports Menu that allows for outputting the report to a file or to e-mail in Excel HTML, Snapshot, Rich Text, MS-DOS Text, or Legacy Spreadsheet formats. From any report's filter window, click View > the Output icon.
  • Because the Central Price Book now has e-mail output capability, an E-Mail Setup combo box has been added to the Setup Pick Lists window to allow you to choose which CDBWin site you wish to use for e-mail settings. On the Setup menu, click Pick Lists > E-Mail Setup

Version 2.17 - 2/10/2009

  • Purging for Expense (X) items only occurs when Purchase Date is selected in the Purge Items filter window. Previously, Expense items would be purged whether Purchase Date or Sold Date was selected. On the Inventory menu, click Purge Items. In the that have not been combo box, select Purchased. Select a date and click Purge.
  • The distribution of new child items linked to a new parent item through the Linked INV ID feature of CDBWin is now supported. Previously a new parent item was distributed to the target site without its children. Users had to perform an outside update to get the new children into the target site, an extra step that is now not necessary. On the Setup menu, click Distribute New Items.
  • Speed of Site-to-Site Update has been improved markedly. On the Inventory menu select Create Adjustments > set criteria to narrow down the sample to be transferred > Site-to-Site Updates.

Version 2.16 - 5/9/2007

  • Newly updated help system reflects content in the current user’s guide. On the Help menu, click Contents.
  • Support for Expense Items has been added, reflecting the design of CDBWin 7.4. Inventory items are identified as Type I items in CPB, expense items as Type X items. Separate identification of items makes it easier for the user to ascertain the true value of inventory line items and helps isolate items that are considered “consumable” in daily operations.

  • Expense items can be changed to inventory items and vice versa. When an inventory item is changed to an expense item, a zero dollar paidout for the transaction is created in CDBWin to accommodate the inventory cost value that once existed on the inventory item.
  • While expense items can be updated and managed in CPB, their behavior differs from inventory items as follows:
    • Promotions cannot be run on them.
    • They cannot have subdepartments (when inventory items with subdepartments are converted to expense items, there is no longer a subdepartment association).
    • They cannot be edited in the Edit Items from Criteria window (but can be edited in the Inventory Maintenance window of CDBWin).
  • As the Sunray servers use Pacific Time for Scheduled Promotions (which means if you are in a non-Pacific time zone the time difference is not taken into account and midnight may “occur” on a different day than you expect), Central Price Book users may now adjust their Sunray timestamps by using CDBWin’s Time Zone Adjust hours feature, ensuring their promotions run on the right day. In CDBWin, on the Setup menu, click CDBWin Settings > the “Locations” tab. In the Time Zone Adjust Hours box, type the number of hours (plus or minus) required for adjusting.
  • The ability to Get, Save and Delete criteria list settings has been added to align with similar functionality CDBWin 7.4. On the Inventory menu, click Item Adjustment.
  • Using the Criteria options group box in Item Adjustment, the user can now search for blank Vendor IDs, blank Redemption IDs and blank Descriptions. On the Inventory menu, click Item Adjustment, in the Criteria options group box, select the check box for the Vendor ID, Redemption ID, and/or Description, leave the corresponding text box clear, and move the cursor out of the box to search accordingly.
  • For the immediate initiation of a promotion scheduled to start for the current date, a single-click Run Promotions feature has been added. On the File menu, click Run Promotions.

Version 2.14 - 11/29/2005

  • Added Promotion Results report to show sales results for specific items during a promotion versus sales results for the same items for the same number of days prior to the promotion. On the Reports menu, click Results. A window appears allowing you to select the promotion that you wish to review.
  • Added Current Prices report to list prices of specific items (using criteria) at all selected sites. On the Reports menu, click Current Prices. A window appears allowing you to select the criteria that define the pricing sample you wish to view.
  • A zone created in CPB (on the Setup menu, click Zones) will now be transferred to CDBWin. Please note that you only will be prompted to transfer zones from within CPB if zones currently exist in CDBWin, at which time CPB will ask for confirmation to transfer each zone in question. At the end of the process, you will be prompted to permanently delete the zones you transferred from CPB, leaving only the copy that was transferred to CDBWin.
  • You can now enter a forward slash (/) with a U.P.C.-E short code in either the Inv ID or UPC/SKU boxes of the Create Adjustments window, and CPB will calculate (expand to) the U.P.C.-A code.
  • The Edit Items from Criteria and View Outside Updates windows may now be re-sized.
  • View Outside Updates has a report that displays which items have been changed, and at what sites. On the Create Adjustments window, click View Outside Updates, View Items Changed in Sites.
  • Item descriptions that are part of an outside update can now be modified from within CPB. In addition, these changes can be transferred to other sites. On the Create Adjustments window, click View Outside Updates. In the list of items that displays, edit the information as desired, then click Distribute Changes to transfer the changed information to other sites.
  • Report pick list dates now descend instead of ascend (the most recent date is on top, "descending" to the oldest on bottom). This matches CDBWin's format.
  • "Missed" promotions--those that have been set up in CPB but not launched on their assigned date--are now ignored. Promotions that did not run at their scheduled times will be flagged as “Failed” on Promotions reports.

Version 2.13.0 - 07/23/2003

  • Add and Delete functionality added to the Create Adjustments window.
  • Change Preview report added to view items before they are actually changed through the Create Adjustments window.
  • Blank description accounted for when using Site to Site Update.
  • Viewing outside updates allows user to change and apply prices from the site or the zone.
  • Created report to show De-Activated items.

Version 2.12.0 - 11/11/2002

  • Added Criteria Selection List to save commonly used criteria.
  • Highlighting items in Adjustment screen and pressing CTRL+F5 will set them as inactive in the sites and delete them from the Zone Master.

Version 2.11.1 - 09/25/2002

  • Changed prompting for Zones with no Linked Items. Archive updates are now marked as Archive in Change History.
  • Formatted department and list information in the preview box of the adjustment screen.
  • E-Mail Changes now becomes enabled if there is a remote site in the zone with e-mail set up and there are SQLs for the site.
  • Deleted Corporate HQ option from Setup Menu. HQ site is determined from CDBSetup for each remote site.
  • Warning message appears if e-mails are not sent to remote sites.
  • Zipping for e-mails uses -j option to NOT include path.
  • Progress bar added for purging. Buttons disabled when updating. Added legend to Outside Updates Report showing * as new items.
  • Added Remote E-Mail Functionality. If e-mail is set up for the remote site, the user can e-mail all SQL files in zipped form to the remote site. SQL files will be deleted and the zip file will be moved to the backup folder on a successful transfer.
