American Towman Looks at Digital Dispatch
"Internet Dispatch Running Strong"
April 2002 -- American Towman magazine features Digital Dispatch
software from Service Station Computer Systems (SSCS) of Salinas, California, in its new April issue.
The article, "Internet Dispatch Has Arrived" by Steve Calitri, describes Digital Dispatch as
the real deal for computerized dispatching in towing. American Towman interviewed several users
of Digital Dispatch and observed the system in use minute by minute. American Towman concluded
the acceptance of Internet-based dispatching will grow rapidly in the towing industry because
the Internet is an excellent tool for dispatching. Digital Dispatch has taken the lead.
Digital Dispatch is an Internet-based dispatching software system used by
towing companies to track, monitor, distribute and control customer service calls using two-way
paging or mobile data terminals with drivers. The system is used to record customer calls,
schedule drivers, generate reports, and send electronic messages. The system automatically time
stamps and clears towing calls with the towing service. The system supports GPS (Global
Positioning Satellite) systems and interacts with the Computerized
Daily Book (CDB) from SSCS.
Service Station Computer Systems is the market leader in point of sale
integration and back office solutions for petroleum retail and related industries. SSCS has
provided computerized products and services for conventional service stations, convenience
stores and other automotive-related operations for over twenty years. SSCS has installed
its specialty software in thousands of sites nationwide and internationally with
all of the major oil corporations.
