Sales Representative

Position Description

I. Primary Purpose
As a Sales Representative the individual is responsible for developing new prospective customers, as well as continuing to work with existing customers. It is the responsibility of the Sales Representative to manage his or her own customer accounts. A monthly and quarterly sales standard will be discussed during the interview process.

II. Responsibilities, Duties, and Functions

  1. Maintains personal sales quota per month on a consistent basis.
  2. Develops new customer leads using the various tools available.
  3. Develops and prepares sales proposals, as well as other business correspondence.
  4. Participates in monthly sales meetings; with presentations and/or special projects or assignments as it relates to sales and new product information.
  5. Continues his or her training as new products or updates to current products are developed.
  6. Participates in customer training by going to customers’ sites to train and set-up computer systems and submits signed customer Install checklists.
  7. Participates in trade shows, on an as-needed basis.
  8. Gives on-line demos to customers in order to sell the product.
  9. Submits all orders with properly signed contracts.
  10. Submits expense accounts on a timely basis.
  11. Manages all aspects of payments from customers, including lease payments, down payments and accounts receivable (A/R balances must be paid within 90 days).
  12. Performs other duties as required; can be changed at management’s discretion.

III. Qualifications, Experience, and Education
Bachelor degree in Marketing, Accounting or experience in a related business sales environment. The person must be well organized, a good time manager and attentive to detail. The person must possess strong written and verbal communication skills. The individual must exhibit professionalism.

IV. Reporting Relationship
Reports to the V.P. of Sales and Marketing or Sales Manager. In their absence, reports to the President.
